Equifax Data Breach
I have received many calls and emails in the past couple of weeks from different clients regarding the security data breach at Equifax. For those of you that wonder what precautionary steps to take, the Federal Trade Commission has put out some very helpful pages to answer questions and “how-to” freeze your credit. Many of you probably think that if you are not a customer of Equifax, you may just doge the bullet. If you ever applied for a credit card, bought a car, had a student loan, have a bank account, or even rent an apartment, it’s possible that Equifax has your personal identifying information.
So take action NOW! Read the FTC guides below. You can also put a fraud alert on your credit report, no one can get a new credit without calling you first.

You are also entitled to check your credit once a year at no cost. This is to verify that all the credit accounts under your name are truly yours. If you would like the credit scores, there will be a charge at the end of process.
